ERATH - Erath Middle School teacher Nannette Delcambre was named the Region IV and the state’s LACUE (Louisiana Association for Computing Using Educators) “Middle School Teacher of the Year.

The annual conference was held recently at the River Center in Baton Rouge.

Delcambre is a twenty one year teaching veteran in Vermilion Parish. She graduated from Erath High in 1984. In 1988, she graduated from USL and began her career.

She taught one year in Coteau, then moved to Dozier Elementary where she taught 1st grade for 11 years and 4th grade for 4 years. In 2004, Delcambre began teaching at Erath Middle School and is currently teaching 6th grade Science.

Delcambre has had many parish and regional trainings in technology at the parish, region and state level. She completed Intech, Intech II, Intech for Science and Intech for Social Studies. She attended a program at McNeese for her Apple Computer Lab. Mrs. Delcambre also attended (and has presented) workshops associated with science equipment from the Chevron Grant. She uses technology to enrich her lessons daily.

In 2000, Nannette Delcambre was the Teacher of the Year in 2000 at Dozier Elementary. Delcambre was invited to present at the NSTA (National Science Teacher Convention) in New Orleans in March 2009.



In October, Delcambre was nominated for the Region IV Middle School Teacher of the Year. She was chosen because of her extensive use of technology in her classroom. After winning the Regional title, she qualified for the LACUE State title. Her State title announcement was made at a LACUE Luncheon on December 3, 2008 in Baton Rouge by LACUE President (and Vermilion Parish Classroom Technology Supervisor) Jude Dubois.
