Flossie began her career as a nurse at the old Acadia Hospital shortly after Crowley High School graduation in 1949. She continued to work as a nurse when it became the American Legion Hospital, and assisted in many births in the Acadia Parish area. At the same time she raised two daughters as a single working mother; she will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family and friends.
Rev. Bruce Runner officiated for the services.
The family requested visiting hours to be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
She is survived by two daughters, Kaye H. Hilliard and her husband Tommy of Crowley, and Josette A. White and her husband Brad of New Orleans; two sisters, Florine Quibodeaux of Jasper, Texas, and Alice Clark of Crowley; two brothers, Harry Kibodeaux of Mineola, Texas, and Frank B. Robinson of Humble, Texas; four grandchildren, Jamie Whitaker and her husband Mark of Arizona, Trey Hilliard and his wife Amanda of Lake Charles, Elaina Harper and her husband Cory of Golden Meadow, and Jan Erin and her husband Rob Corzo of Youngsville; and Thirteen great-grandchildren, Matt and Amanda Whitaker, Kirston and Kassidy Mitchell, Kainen Hilliard, Halley Romero, Adison and Ethan Harper, Jamie Cobb, Robert, John Thomas, and Samuel Corzo, and Annulyn Istre.
Ms. Monceaux is preceded in death by her parents, Neville and Euphemie Monceaux Kibeodeaux; her step-father, Frank Robinson; one brother, Curley Kibodeaux; and one nephew, Joseph Neville Richards.
