Our country has wickedly wandered far away from God and is floundering in the deep waters of confusion.

When the Supreme Court declared prayer in our schools to be unconstitutional, on June 25, 1962, in the case of Engel vs. Vitale, the downward spiral away from God started. Mankind resembles a rat running about in a maze. The moral and spiritual lights of our churches are going out.

Our freedom is being threatened by the political termites as they push their agenda of a communistic-style of government while chewing, chewing, and always chewing away at the foundation given to us by-our founding fathers.

We have put ourselves in the hands of ungodly politicians who have ripped out our God-given constitutional rights and opposed everything our Bible teaches. We need the Lord Jesus back in our schools, our government and all our churches as Savior and Lord.

The trouble is that our arrogant, rich politicians don’t listen to God and are lacking in the knowledge of what Thomas Jefferson said in 1801. Our government has misused and misquoted and taken out of context the real meaning or purpose of the 2nd amendment which states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….”

That amendment was never intended to remove Christianity from government and our schools. It was meant to keep the Congregationalist denomination from becoming the official denomination of the United States. Our founding Fathers did not teach the Separation of the Church and State. It was not included in the Bill of Rights or in the Constitution, nor is the Separation of the Church and State a historical teaching in our country.

In 1962, again, the courts redefined the church to include any religious activity performed in public such as prayer in schools. A few months later, Bible reading and religious classes were removed. Next, there was an attack against the Ten Commandments and Nativity scenes. People have been wanting the words, “In God We Trust” taken off our currency. This Country Boy Preacher happens to believe that the words, “In God We Trust” should always be kept imprinted on our money. As you can see, the crisis of our generation is acute. The danger is imminent.

Did you know that Madison, the writer of the Constitution of the United States said that the constitution was written for a Christian people and was wholly inadequate for another?

Did you know that the picture of Moses was imprinted on the first coin minted in this country? A South American president said this to Roger Babson, “South America was settled by men who were seeking gold, but North America was settled by men who were seeking God.”

Did you know that nearly all of the statues of our founding fathers in Washington, D. C., have scriptures etched in their base? The Living God is seen throughout the history of this nation. God and His Word is the foundation of this country.

This country was founded on the Word of God with the principles of Christianity. Our early educational system used the New England Primer as the first textbook ever printed in America to teach students their A, B. C’s.

That textbook lasted for 210 years. It was jam-packed with the Word of God. Not understanding and appreciating the deep wells of political and religious convictions, writings, and sacrifices, out of which all of our blessings have come to America is as stupid as it is wicked.

Our godly forefathers (56 men) also gave us a Constitution that shaped this nation and declared that all people have rights given by our Creator.

Their wide-range of age could easily be seen--the 70 year old Benjamin Franklin signing the document, along with six men in their sixties, eleven men in their fifties, twenty in their forties, sixteen in their thirties, and two men were twenty years of age.

What price did they pay in being revolutionary in their commitment to God and Country? Twelve had their homes burned, two had sons to die in the Revolutionary Army fighting against the British, five of them were captured and tortured and killed as traitors, two had sons captured, and nine of them died from wounds received in the Revolutionary War.

Don’t we have a duty to understand our spiritual and political foundations and defend them? Do we know enough of the living Word to take a firm stand on the solid Rock?

Are we ignorant of God’s instructions and our authority in Christ Jesus Our Lord through His shed blood and our testimony of saving faith in Christ and the empowerment of Holy Spirit of God? When will we recognize that the Old Testament is the record of God’s dealing with a nation either in grace or in judgment?

Not only has God brought blessings and judgments on the nation of Israel , but the stamp of God’s Hand has been heavy upon America regardless of those who have moved this nation away from God.

The early colonists and settlers fled religious persecution and came here seeking freedom in the spiritual and political realm. Our founding fathers were not all plaster-saints, but they were people who believed in God and feared Him and wrote their convictions into their deeds and into their documents.

What is the answer to our crazy madness? The answer to our crisis is not in bigger government, but in a belief in and dependence upon Almighty God to remove our sins. Government cannot change the sinful nature of man.

Since when can you force men into ways of righteousness by police powers, or legislate them in the social progress by more government laws, or brainwash them from their evil actions, or torture men to the confessional, or hypnotize the social order with mass psychiatry, or terrorize them into discipline?

That is not the creed of a Spiritual America because our fore-fathers believed in an inward change made by the grace of God. Nations will be shaped either by the totalitarian spirit or by the Christian spirit. Instead of becoming a slave to a totalitarian government, we can be both lifted up by God’s forgiveness and grace and kept down from our haughtiness by offering God our humility, repentance, and love.

Let America seek, with all its heart, a genuine faith in God through Jesus Christ. Then, and then only, will America know both its affinity (natural hunger for a relationship with God) and its accountability to God. Man’s affinity gives him dignity; his accountability gives him a conscience of his sin and an awareness of his need to know God.

We have to seek freedom and use it responsibly as we understand the nature and cost of our freedom. As these terrible events take place across America , are we checking out what God says about the end-times and the soon return of Christ? Many Americans prefer to go full speed ahead ignoring God’s caution lights and red lights of Biblical truths while defending our injured pride?

Does our church and political leaders prefer to totter on our man-made demands, doubts, and empty political and religious theories framed without God by ungodly people? We need more spiritual voices in the pulpit that will call this runaway generation back to God.

There is no substitute for God-anointed, God-called prophets. This wayward world must be warned of judgment and urgently won to Christ.

We must thunder out to a sleeping church and a sleeping nation, “Wake up! Wake up! We have been robbed of our Godly heritage!” And I say, “It is time to take it back!” A nation is great when it honors God and seeks His guidance.

Together by faith, prayer, and by commitment to the Lord Jesus, can we rebuild our floundering nation that has been robbed of its godly heritage.

Not everyone believes as you do. Show me this God thing and I might think about it. The world is a bigger place than Kaplan, LA and not everyone believes in a god, more than one god, Allah, Jesus, or Buddha. Which religion is "right"? You don't know and no one does. You can believe what you wish, but none of it is proveable. I have been called more moral than any Christian and have never, ever believed in a god or a spiritual being of any name. And guess what? I'm fine! Religion is more a tradition than anything. May you be blessed by the Flying Spaghetti Monster's noodly appendages! Ramen.
