Agents who were working in an undercover capacity with the Vermilion / Narcotics Task force traveled to the Paradise Club located on the By-pass in Abbeville
The Task Force was looking into several complaints of the possibility of illegal drug activity going on there.
Once inside, agents made contact with one Kristen Michelle Romero (DOB 5-4-1986) of Abbeville, who was dancing and bartending in the club.
After some conversation, agents inquired of her if she would be able to sell them illegal narcotics. Romero advised that she could call a friend to the establishment and he would sell them drugs. Romero made that call and a short time later Roderick Levine (DOB 2-26-1979) also of Abbeville, drove up to the establishment where he met the agent and Romero outside in the parking lot.
Levine then distributed the suspect cocaine to Romero and she in turn made the transaction with the agent. Levine entered the establishment for a short time and upon leaving was approached by the Task Force and arrested for distribution of cocaine.
Romero was also arrested for her part in the crime. Bonds for both Romero and Levine were set at $20,000.
Finally, Sheriff Couvillon would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
