KAPLAN - While there were a lot of tears flowing after the Kaplan Pirates lost to Amite, 20-12, in the Class 3A semifinals, there were a few smiles to be found. In the center of the field after the game, head coach Stephen Lotief told his team how proud he was of their accomplishments.

Brady Thomas is on the UL coaching staff.

Vermilion Catholic High School announced Friday that it offered Brady Thomas the head football coaching job and he accepted. Thomas is a graduate assistant for the UL Ragin Cajuns and a former Cajun quarterback player (2008-2012).
Kaplan High School has been hectic the last three days but it is what KHS Principal Dr. Janet Guerrini called, “Crazy fun.” This week the school has been preparing to host a Class 3A semifinal game tonight. The 13-0 Pirates play host to the No. 7 Amite Warriors in the semifinal round.

Kiwanis Club donates food to Abbeville family
